PURPOSE: A method and a device for generating alarms capable of selecting alarm signals of a telephone system are provided to make a user directly record desiring voice or music, and to supply the recorded voice or music to the user at a desired time and system, when implementing an alarm function through an extension telephone set connected to an automatic response system or a switching system. CONSTITUTION: If a user presses a corresponding dial or button in a dial unit(40) in order to record a desiring alarm signal, a CPU(10) senses the signal, to record and store the desired alarm signal through a voice storage unit(60). If the user presses a corresponding dial or button in order to receive the alarm function, the CPU(10) senses the signal to make the user select a desiring alarm time and alarm signal. If the user selects an alarm time and an alarm signal through dials or buttons of the dial unit(40), information for the selection is stored. The CPU(10) decides whether the inputted alarm time is reached. If the alarm time is reached, the CPU(10) delivers the selected alarm signal through a speaker or generates a ring signal.
