PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device and a focusing servo method capable of smoothly turning on a focusing servo even when an objective lens having a short working distance is used. SOLUTION: An optical pickup 10 is moved to a focusing servo adjusting area of an optical disk 5 by a thread mechanism 20, and a servo circuit 12 is controlled by a control circuit 19 so as to execute the focusing servo without rotating a spindle motor 15. When the focusing servo is finished, an actuator 9 in the optical pickup 10 is moved in the radial direction of the optical disk 5, and an offset adjustment for the focusing servo is executed so that the peak of a reproduced signal owing to a groove shape formed in the focusing servo adjusting area becomes the maximum. |
