PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system which enables a user to use a inquiry service with its native language. SOLUTION: A method for providing native-language inquiry service to Internet users by using a plurality of retrieval engines includes a step of receiving an original inquiry request from one user at a site (a), a step of selecting one appropriate retrieval engine (b), and a step of converting inquiry words of a native language into inquiry words of the language exclusively used by the selected retrieval engine (c). The method also includes a step of generating a new inquiry request and sending the inquiry to the retrieval engine (d), a step of sending the new inquiry request and receiving returned inquired results (e), and a step of returning the inquired results to the user as the inquired results related to the original inquiry request (f).
