OPTICAL SWITCH AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing structure of array side optical fibers of an optical switch using an optical fiber array base material consisting of a base material having a portion of columnar flanks at its flanks. SOLUTION: The optical fiber array base material 1 is formed with optical fiber fixing grooves 1a in its generator direction. The array side optical fibers 2 are arrayed in the optical fiber fixing grooves, are pressed by a fixing member 3 and are fixed by adhesion. The fixing member is formed with a pressing surface 3a to a staircase shape and the respective steps are worked to meet the height on the tops of the respective array side optical fibers 2 to be pressed.
