PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To softly land a magnetic head on a floppy disk, and to easily prevent the sticking of the magnetic head to the floppy disk. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a rotary head vertical moving mechanism 201 having suspension lifters 203 and 204 driven to be opened/closed around a fulcrum pin on a chassis, an eject motor for rotary-driving the suspension lifters 203 and 204 in closing directions and loading a magnetic head 101 on a head loading position, and a tensile coil spring 229 for rotary-driving the suspension lifters 203 and 204 in opening directions and unloading the magnetic head 102 from the head loading position to a head unloading position.
