PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the lighting irregularity of big keys such as a scroll key. SOLUTION: An operation key lighting structure comprises operation keys formed of transparent material and having characters, symbols and graphics printed on the reverses, a case having an opening for internally fitting the operation keys, a switching board having electric switches of a contact type to be associated with the pushdown of the operation keys and emitting elements for lighting the operation keys, and semitransparent rubber sheets as light guide plates laid between the case and the switch board for biasing the operation keys to the side of the case, transmitting the pushdown of the operation keys to the electric switches and conducting the light of the emitting elements to the operation keys. The switch board has the electric switches under, at least, the upper and lower ends of the operation keys and the emitting elements almost under the centers thereof, and milky resin sheets are laid between the operation key and the rubber sheet.
