PURPOSE: A PCS(Personal Communication Service) terminal for a wide-band wireless local loop and a narrow-band wireless mobile network, and a control method thereof are provided so that terminal expenses can be reduced by enabling users to use wide-band wireless local loop services and narrow-band wireless mobile network services through one terminal. CONSTITUTION: A front-end unit(100) receives a fading channel signal or radio frequency signal from a wide-band wireless local loop base station(1) or a narrow-band wireless mobile network base station(2), and outputs it to a down-mixer(300). In addition, the front-end unit(100) receives a transmission RF signal from an up-mixer(1200), and outputs it to the wide-band wireless local loop base station(1) or the narrow-band wireless mobile network base station(2). An oscillation frequency generator(200) outputs an oscillation frequency to the down-mixer(300) or up-mixer(1200). The down-mixer(300) generates an IF signal by mixing the fading channel signal or RF signal, and the carrier oscillation frequency, and outputs it to a narrow-band IF filter(400) or wide-band IF filter(500). An automatic gain controller(600) receives the IF signal, controls the gain thereof, and outputs the resultant signal to a mobile station manage(700). The MSM(700) receives the fading channel IF signal, confirms whether the service network is the wide-band wireless local loop or narrow-band wireless mobile network, and then outputs a wide-band switching control signal or narrow-band switching control signal. A memory unit(800) is connected to the MSM(700), for storing subscriber information. Accordingly, the user can use the wide-band wireless local loop service and the narrow-band wireless mobile network service through one PCS terminal.
