PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing chitosan porous bead is provided to reduce cost and obtain superior characteristics of bead by controlling particle size of the carrier, particle distribution in the pore, and concentration of chitosan solid per unit volume. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of dispersing chitosan 70g into acetic acid aqueous solution 3.5%m, stirring the resultant material during 1 hour at a room temperature, and filtering the chitosan which is not dissolved, and removing air bubble in the resultant chitosan solution; compressing the chitosan solution by a compression air through a nozzle of diameter 0.15 to 0.2mm while stirring alkali solution 5% NaOH/20% ethanol solution; and obtaining a chitosan porous bead by filtering the bead sedimentation, washing the bead, performing crosslinking reaction, and carrying out such procedures as washing, drying and preservation.
