PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method capable of efficiently and accurately inspecting reliability of a distance computed, based on a stereo image. SOLUTION: In a method for inspecting reliability of distance data computed based on a stereo image, a pair of pickup images are obtained by photographing a test chart 21 disposed in an image pickup direction and having a luminance pattern drawn on it by a stereo camera. The distance data are computed from three pickup images by stereo matching. The distance data regarding the test chart projected in the pickup image are treated as evaluation samples, and a histogram showing the relation between the distance value of the evaluation sample and its appearance frequency is produced. Reliability of the distance data computed is determined by evaluating the characteristics of the histogram produced, based on the distance between the stereo camera and the test chart. |
