PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head hardly generating the deterioration of property at the time when a signal is read or written, by allowing the sure removal of the electrostatic noise even when the speed increase of a head chip is advanced. SOLUTION: This head 1 is constituted in such a manner that the head chip 2 consisting of an MR element, etc., and a chip varistor 6 of three-terminal type are mounted on a substrate 3, and hot side conductive path 4 and earth side conductive path 5 are formed on the substrate 3, and the hot side conductive path 4 is divided into conductive path parts 4a, 4b whereto 1st, 2nd terminal electrodes 8, 9 of the chip varistor 6 are connected, and a 3rd terminal electrode 10 is electrically connected to the earth side conductive path 5.
