PURPOSE: A hydraulic elevator operational speed control method is provided to prevent driving shock or accidents by controlling operation speed according to oil temperature in a hydraulic elevator. CONSTITUTION: A car is moved to a desired floor by driving a hydraulic motor according to an operation command from a hall call or a car call if a normal operation mode is set after checking normality. A predetermined temperature limit is compared with the temperature of the oil stored in an oil tank by detecting the oil temperature at regular intervals. The elevator operates at normal speed in case of the oil temperature to be below the temperature limit. The elevator is deceleated when the oil temperature little is more than the temperature limit. The operation of the elevator is stopped if the oil temperature is over the temperature limit.
