PURPOSE: A circuit for controlling re-transmission in an Internet interface device is provided to delay transmission if much network traffic exists in a LAN interface, and to implement re-transmission of data in hardware. CONSTITUTION: An Ethernet controller(20) controls an operation for Internet interface using the Ethernet. A CODEC(COder/DECoder,50) encodes or decodes transceived data. A transceiver(60) transceives data. A CPU(30) controls LAN collision and data re-transmission. A collision control logic(40) temporarily delays data transmission between the Ethernet controller(20) and the CODEC(50) if LAN collision is generated, and re-transmits a frame if transmission is failed at predetermined number of times according to a back-off algorithm.
