PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface acoustic wave device which is easily miniaturized by reducing the deviation of group delaying time characteristic. SOLUTION: On the surface of a piezoelectric substrate 2, the first IDT 3, the second IDT 4 arranged in a direction vertical to a surface acoustic wave propagating direction with respect to the first IDT 3 and a multi strip coupler 5 consisting of plural strips so as to be opposed extending from the first IDT 3 to the second IDT 4 are formed. A reflecting end face is also formed on the substrate 2 so as to reflect a surface acoustic wave to the first and second IDTs 3 and 4 opposed to the first and second IDTs 3 and 4.
