PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a volume expression by real time polygon plotting concerning a method and a device for processing image for providing the volume expression in real time. SOLUTION: A volume is defined by a volume polygon, the depth difference of the volume polygon and a plotting object polygon is detected, the attribute of the volume polygon is modulated from the depth difference, and image data for each pixel are generated from the modulated volume polygon and the plotting object polygon. Thus, the volume expression can be provided by real time polygon plotting.
