PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance measuring device, capable of measuring the distance to a measuring object of various materials. SOLUTION: This distance measuring device is equipped with a reference surface means 12, where a pair of electrodes 13 to 15 are formed to form a distance measurement reference surface, an oscillator circuit 21 taking a capacity of the paired electrodes 13 to 15 as a part of an oscillation frequency constant, and a measuring circuit 26 for measuring the distance between the distance measurement reference surface and the measuring object 5, according to at least one of the oscillation frequency of the oscillator circuit 21 and a designated parameter varying with the oscillation frequency.
