PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an undulator device having a wide range of oscillation wavelengths, capable of easily adjusting the gap length between permanent magnet rows and applicable to a free electronic laser device in a waveguide mode. SOLUTION: This undulator device has a pair of magnet racks 11 with undulator magnet rows 12, disposed on the faces facing each other with an electronic beam orbit in-between, a vacuum duct 15 for vacuum sealing the space between the magnet racks 11 and a waveguide 14 disposed in a position between the undulator magnet rows and enclosing the electronic beam track. The vacuum of the waveguide 14 is kept almost the same as that of the vacuum duct 15, the faces opposite to the undulator magnet rows are thin walls, and the distance between the undulator magnet rows is very small, so that the variation range of the intensity of the magnetic field is expanded.
