PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for monitoring noise, in which only the noise of an airplane can be extracted precisely. SOLUTION: A small section for judgment and a judgment period in which a plurality of small sections are collected are decided on the basis of the transition in terms of time of a noise level. Regarding a noise extracted value inside the small section, the noise extracted value whose final judgment is not required is specified on the basis of the frequency characteristic of a noise in a moment in which the noise is generated. When even one noise extracted value whose final judgment is required within the judgment period exists, whether the noise is the noise of an airplane or not is decided on the basis of the continuation time of the noise extracted value.
