PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device is provided to improve reliability by preventing a cross talk from being generated and a stain from being generated at a picture display. CONSTITUTION: An ion absorption material layer(17) is coated on a surface of a spacer(16) and a thickness of 500 to 1500 angstrom. The ion absorption material is contained in orientation films(14,14'). Upper and lower substrates(11,11') are installed so as to be opposed to each other, and a color filter layer(12) is formed on the upper substrate(11). Indium tin oxide(ITO) electrodes(13,13') are formed on the color filter layer(12) and the lower substrate(11'), respectively. The orientation films(14,14') are formed on the ITO electrodes(13,13'), respectively. A liquid crystal layer(16) is formed between the orientation films(14,14'), and the spacer(16) adjusts the thickness of the liquid crystal layer(15) in a predetermined range while maintaining an interval between the upper and lower substrates(11,11').
