SHOCK ABSORBING DEVICE OF STEERING COLUMN OF AUTOMOBILES

PURPOSE: A shock absorbing device forms a protrusive groove part in an outer tube into which an inner tube is inserted by stamping method so as to absorb shock. Moreover, it can be produced by a simple work with an inexpensive manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION: Protrusive groove parts(71) are formed on each part of an outer tube(7) by stamping method. The protrusive groove parts(71) are of cone shape and form a row by the diameter periphery of a column with a certain gap between. Multiple rows of the protrusive groove parts(71) are formed with a certain gap between so as to disperse and terminate shock when an impact load occurs.
