PURPOSE: An air pump is provided to achieve a high pressure pumping operation by arranging a first pressure unit and a second pressure unit within a pump case. CONSTITUTION: An air pump comprises a pump case(11) having a water inlet port(11a) and a water outlet port(11b); a first pressure unit(12) mounted within the pump case in such a manner as to be connected to the water inlet port of the pump case, and which firstly pressurizes the water introduced through the water inlet port; and a second pressure unit(13) mounted to be communicated to the first pressure unit and which secondly pressurizes the water pressurized by the first pressure unit and discharges the pressurized water through the water outlet port of the pump case. First and second pressure units include first and second pressure chambers(22,32) separated into fan installation chambers(22',32') and rotor installation chambers(22",32"); first and second fans(23,33) installed within fan installation chambers; first and second rotors(25,35) installed within rotor installation chambers; and a water inlet port(27) and a water outlet port(27') arranged to fan installation chambers, respectively.
