PURPOSE: A suction muffler structure for linear compressor is provided to achieve an improved performance of the compressor and noise damping effectiveness. CONSTITUTION: A suction muffler(100) has a structure in that a first small diameter portion(110) which forms a first neck portion of a muffler body is inserted into a refrigerant flow channel of a piston, and a first large diameter portion(120) communicated to the first small diameter portion so as to form a first resonance chamber of the muffler body tightly contacts the rear end of the piston. A diaphragm(110a) which tightly contacts the inner periphery of the refrigerant flow channel of the piston so as to shunt the refrigerant flow channel of the piston, is arranged at the intermediate portion of the outer periphery of the first small diameter portion forming the first neck portion of the muffler body. A second small diameter portion(130) for forming the second neck portion, penetrates the first small diameter portion, in such a manner that the closed area of the shunt area becomes a second large diameter portion forming a second resonance chamber.
