PURPOSE: A diffraction/refraction composite lens having a symmetrical face based on an iris is able to design lateral color, coma and distortion color that are minimized by mutual cancellation effect. CONSTITUTION: A composite image-formation lens using a diffraction plane and a refraction plane is composed of two lenses having a symmetrical plane. The lenses are identical to each other.
