CARD READER, AND ITS OPERATION METHOD

PURPOSE: A card reader and its operation method is provided to read the information stored in an electronic card with a magnetic stripe, an IC chip, a one dimensional bar code, or a two dimensional bar code, and transmit the read information over a network. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a reading module(20), a storage module(30), a communication module(40) and a controller(50). The reading module(20) includes a magnetic stripe reader(21), an IC chip reader(22) and bar code readers(23,24). The storage module(30) stores the data read from a magnetic strip(11), an IC chip(12), and bar codes(13,14) formed in the card by the reading module(20). The communication module(40) transmits the data read by the reading module(30) to an external device. The controller(50) controls the operations of reading the data from the card, coding the data read from the card, and transmitting the data to the external device.
