SOLUTION: In this magnetic recording medium having a non-magnetic substrate formed in a long size shape and a magnetic layer formed by applying magnetic paint on the one main surface of the non-magnetic substrate, coercive force Hc0 in a direction parallel to the longitudinal direction of the non-magnetic substrate and coercive force Hc60 in a direction inclined by 60 deg. from the longitudinal direction of the non-magnetic substrate toward a direction orthogonal to the main surface of the non-magnetic substrate satisfy the formulae 0.84<Hc60/Hc0<=1.14 and 1,700 [Oe]<=Hc0<=3,000 [Oe].
