PURPOSE: The apparatus and method for allotting a character on the internet are provided to enable a user to have a humane, cultural, biological, entertaining desire by allotting and sending character data from a connector's terminal to a receiver's terminal, and controlling character's movement. CONSTITUTION: A user connects to a web site server to allot a character(21) and joins as a member or checks a character list(23). A user selects a character, downloads character data and a character control program(25), and determines whether to send character data to another terminal(27). In case that a user decides to send character data to another terminal, and user sends character data by e-mail and saves data in another terminal(28). A user checks whether an order for controlling a character's movement is inputted and performs controlling of a character's movement(30). When a server and a terminal are connected for an internet communication(31), a growth data of an allotted character is up grade-downloaded(33). Information on a management kit to need for growing an allotted character is supplied for a server(34). A completion of an allotted character's growth is determined(35).
