The vehicle seat consists of a seat frame (11), which carries a support layer (43) and a seat cushion. It has the front section (3) of the seat cushion separated from the main section and adjustable in position. This front section is supported by a secondary frame (32). A support frame (41) carries the support layer and the secondary frame by means of pivots on horizontal axes (45, 33). An adjusting mechanism (50, 53, 54, 35, 47) is fitted to allow the relative positions of the seat cushions to be adjusted relative to the seat frame.
