PURPOSE: A split air conditioner is provided to prevent fire caused by the deterioration of the resistance by allowing a circuit connection unit to operate only when the power line is normally connected. CONSTITUTION: A split air conditioner comprises an indoor unit(10) having an indoor unit transmitting/receiving circuit section(12), an indoor unit power circuit section(13) for supplying power to the indoor unit transmitting/receiving circuit section, and a connection member(40) connected to an external power source; an outdoor unit(20) having an outdoor unit transmitting/receiving circuit section(22) for performing data communication with the indoor unit transmitting/receiving circuit section, and an outdoor unit power circuit section(23) for supplying power to the outdoor unit transmitting/receiving circuit section; a connection unit(30) connected to the indoor unit and the outdoor unit, respectively, and which has two pairs of power terminals for interconnecting two power lines and a pair of data terminal for connecting data communication line; and a circuit connection unit mounted to the outdoor unit side so as to allow power to be supplied to the outdoor unit transmitting/receiving circuit section only when the power line is normally connected to the power terminal. The circuit connection unit includes a relay exciting coil(99) operating by the power supplied to the outdoor unit power circuit section , and a relay contact for switching power supply to the outdoor transmitting/receiving circuit section.
