PURPOSE: An LSR(Label Switch Router) consisted of an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) exchange is provided to use an ATM switch as the LSR, so as to interwork the ATM switch with an internet network. CONSTITUTION: MLSPs(Multiprotocol Label Switch Protocols)(11,21) equip an LDP(Label Distribution Protocol) function, and perform a transceiving of label information. Tables(12-2,22-2) store information on output VPI(Virtual Path Identifier)/VCI(Virtual Channel Identifier) corresponding to input VPI/VCI. Header converters(12-3,22-3) retrieve VPIs/VCIs corresponding to VPIs/VCIs of input cells from the tables(12-2,22-2), and convert the VPIs/VCIs into the VPIs/VCIs of the input cells to output the converted VPIs/VCIs. Switches(12-4,22-4) output the input cells of the header converters(12-3,22-3) to transmitting paths corresponding to the VPIs/VCIs. LICBs(Label Information Control Blocks)(12-1,22-1) set up the VPIs/VCIs corresponding to the input VPIs/VCIs of the tables(12-2,22-2) according to the label information transceived from the MLSPs(11,21).
