PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a head vertical moving mechanism for softly landing a magnetic head on a floppy disk, and to reduce space. SOLUTION: The intersection portions of a pair of suspension lifters 203 and 204 intersecting each other in nearly a cross shape are rotatably attached to a fulcrum pin 205 on a chassis 4, by a cam mechanism 206 having one camshaft 209 inserted in common into a pair of cam grooves 207 and 208 formed in the other end sides of the pair of suspension lifters 203 and 204 and driven to slide, a pair of upper and lower suspension supporting parts 203a and 204a provided in one end sides of the pair of suspension lifters 203 and 204 are driven to be opened/closed upward and downward, and a pair of upper and lower magnetic heads 101 and 102 are head-loaded/unloaded by a pair of upper and lower suspensions 182 and 183.
