PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microtome excellently slicing a sample even if the sample is too large to cut by a conventional microtome. SOLUTION: In this microtome, a moving side sample table 16 or a cutting blade 5d is mounted to a guide bush 17 formed freely slidably to a guide post 15, while between the guide post and the guide bush, and a retainer provided with multiple freely rotational guide roller bearings 18 are arranged freely slidably with its both inside and outside faces brought into contact with the outer circumferential face of the guide post and the inner circumferential face of the guide bush respectively.
