PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program reproducing device that reproduces a plurality of programs at the same time and its method by reading recording contents of a plurality of the programs at a high-speed, distributing each program and reproducing the programs. SOLUTION: This program reproducing device is provided with a program selection means 12, that selects a plurality of programs that are reproduced at the same time, a recording contents read means 13 that reads recording contents of each program in a recording medium 11 that records the recording contents with respect to a plurality of the programs, a recording contents distribution means 14 that distributes the recording contents of a plurality of the read programs into recording contents by the programs, a program reproducing means A15 or the like, that receives the recording contents distributed by the programs to reproduce them, and a video signal output means 18, that generates a video signal outputted to the outside of the device from an output of the program reproduction means A15 or the like. The division number and the display size are revised, depending on number of simultaneously reproduced programs and a plurality of the programs is simultaneously reproduced on the same screen.
