PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reed switch unit which prevents a glass tube from being damaged due to a stress and in which, when a reed switch is fixed to a unit main body, the reed switch is not positioned by using the glass tube as a reference. SOLUTION: In this reed switch unit 44, the liquid level position of a reservoir tank 30 in a master cylinder is detected. The reed switch unit is composed of a reed switch 11 whose contact part 14 is sealed inside a glass tube 16 and in which lead parts 18 are extended from both sides of the glass tube 16 to the direction of its axial line. The reed switch unit is composed of a unit body 45 which supports the respective lead parts 18, 18 so as to be capable of being connected electrically and which is provided with a terminal 50 used to fix the reed switch 11. The reed switch 11 is fixed to the unit body 45 in such a way that the glass tube 16 does not come into contact with the unit main body 45.
