PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce occurrences of mismatching regions by surely executing the matching of corresponding points. SOLUTION: A projected light pattern generating circuit 2 generates a projected light pattern, in which the size of dot, length and thickness of line, position and density are irregular, by using a uniform random number or a regular random number and supplies the same to a projector 3. The projector 3 enlarges and applies a projected light pattern to an object 1. A reference camera 4 photographs a reference image. A reference camera 5 provided at a designated angle and at a designated distance from the reference camera 4 photographs a reference image. Image-to-image correspondence circuits 6, 7 perform the matching of corresponding points of the base image with the reference image. A distance image generating circuit 8 generates a distance image by using azimuth difference of each pixel of the base image and the reference image input from the image-to-image correspondence circuits 6, 7.
