PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a precise test even when a load applying time is varied between a firstly prepared sample and a lastly sample prepared in testing a plurality of samples and to cope with a testing device applying a full load after applying an initial load in a first step of a test. SOLUTION: A load deflecting temperature/softening temperature testing device is provided with load placing rods 10, a load placing rod elevating mechanism, and a load applying elevation base 24. The load placing rods 10 each provided with an indenter 11 in the lower end and a load receiving base 12 in the upper end are arranged freely movably upward/downward on a plurality of sample bases 2 arranged in a sample base pedestal 1 to be dipped into a heating tank. Each of the load mounting rods 10 is provided with the load placing rod elevating mechanism arranged movably upward/downward between the position, in which an indenter 11 abutting to a sample S, and a waiting position on the upper side. The load applying elevation base 24 moves upward/ downward between a lowering position, in which a load W is placed on the load receiving base 12, and a lifting position, in which the load W is lifted from the load receiving base 12.
