PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box type drying furnace to uniformly dry the whole surface of a material to be dried and form an efficient installation space. SOLUTION: A hot air outlet 32 and a hot air inlet 34 are formed in a furnace body 2 to contain a material P to be dried. Hot air generated by a hot air generator 3 is supplied in the furnace body 2 and used hot air in the furnace body is returned to the hit air generator 3. In a box type drying furnace 1, the furnace body 2 is partitioned into a plurality of furnace chambers A and B, communicating with each other and furnace fans 4 and 4 are respectively situated in the furnace chambers A and B, and a peripheral hot air circulation flow R is formed between the furnace chambers A and B.
