PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fin tube type heat exchanger in which noise is reduced as much as possible while realizing an optimal arrangement of heating tubes. SOLUTION: Noise is reduced by decreasing the outside diameter DA of a heating tube for passing refrigerant such that 4.0 mm<=DA<=5.8 mm and an optimal arrangement of heating tubes is realized by setting the pitches LA, LB of tube row and tube stage such that 1.2DA<=LA<=1.8DA and 2.6 DA<=LB<=3.5DA. These numeric values are achieved by specifying an HFC based refrigerant, an HC based refrigerant or a refrigerant principally comprising carbon dioxide which does not destroy the ozone layer and has no risk of warming the earth.
