PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device that can extend number of sections and a degree of freedom of read conditions so as to extend a section function. SOLUTION: At start of reading, an attribute selection signal of a read condition A is outputted to a binary processing selection 26 and main scanning and subscanning point data are outputted to a latch circuit 28 from a pointer block P0 of a pointer memory 27. A gamma table selection circuit 20 outputs data after gamma table conversion to a filter processing circuit 21. A dither pattern generating circuit 23 outputs pattern data as a comparison signal. A dither processing and error spread processing circuit 24 compares the comparison signal with image data after filter processing to start binary processing when dither processing is designated. The circuit 24 calculates error data from the image data after filter processing, applies binary processing to the pattern data as the comparison signal and stores error data after the binary processing to an error spread line buffer 25 when error spread processing is designated.
