PURPOSE: A process for preparing the title fabric by weaving a cation dye dyeable polyester ultrafine fiber and yarn having a small fineness and different shrinkage is provided, which produces silk like polyester fabrics having elegant gloss and silk like touch and expressing melange effect at the same time. CONSTITUTION: This process comprises the steps of using copolymerized polyester multifilament yarn having a small fineness and different shrinkage as warp threads and cation dye dyeable polyester/polyamide composite yarn having a single yarn fineness of less than 0.3 as weft threads, weaving in such a manner that the total weight of the warp threads is 45 to 60wt.% based on the total weight of the fabric, and performing weight reduction process to be a weight reduction rate of 5 to 10wt.%.
