The invention relates to a terminal (10) for treating especially betting slips. The inventive terminal comprises a document reader (20), a display device (18) and an electronic box (22). The inventive terminal is further characterized by a post (12) with a base element (14, 14') and a support element (16) that carries the display device (18) and that extends upwards from said base element in an approximately vertical manner. Said document reader (20) is located on an operator side of the terminal (10) below the display unit (18) and can be displaced towards the operator between a positi on resting on the support element (16) and a position apart therefrom.
