A system for performing broadband differential time domain measurement on a subscriber loop having access terminals (2102, 2104). The system comprising a waveform generator (2310) having output (2312) coupled to an input port (2512) of a sampling head (2510). The sampling head (2510) further includes two loop test points (2514, 2516) each connected to the loop access terminals (2102, 2104), and an output port (2518) connected to the input (2322) of the detector (2320).
