IMPROVED ICE CHEST AND COLD PLATE APPARATUS

An improved ice chest and cold plate apparatus (10) for use in beverage dispensers. The ice chest and cold plate apparatus (10) includes an ice storage container (12) having an open top (14), a bottom (16), and four sidewalls (18, 20, 22 and 24). A cold plate heat exchanger (26) is affixed t o the outer surface of the bottom of the ice storage container (12) with a thermally conductive adhesive (30). The cold plate includes a plurality of cooling circuits (28) comprising tubular coils (82) extending in a serpentin e path and die-cast in aluminum to form an aluminum block. The improved ice chest and cold plate apparatus (10) is simple, less expensive and easier to manufacture than prior art ice chests with cold plate.
