PURPOSE:To form a high-contrast panel where no light leaks by prescribing the mutual sizes of a picture element electrode pattern, a black matrix pattern, and a color filter pattern. CONSTITUTION:On an MIM substrate, Ta lines 31, MIM switches 32, chromium patterns 34, Ta island-shaped patterns 33, ITO picture element electrodes 35, and a black matrix layer 11 are formed. On a counter substrate side, on the other hand, ITO counter electrodes 36, and R, G, and B color filter layers 38 are formed. In this case, the color filter patterns 38 on the counter substrate side completely include the patterns of the picture element electrodes 35 on the substrate side where elements are formed and the patterns of the picture element electrodes 35 on the substrate side where the elements are formed completely include the patterns 12 of window opening parts of the black matrix. Consequently, when the black matrix layers are formed on the MIM substrate, the panel which is very strong to pair deviation is obtained and no light leak is caused. |
