Two-part rivet has ball (9) for expansion, fitted to spreader drilling (8) at end of shaft (7) of second part (2) before it is pressed into first part (1). When two rivet parts are pressed together, ball is supported at base (13) of blind drilling (4) in first part. When rivet is assembled, with two parts locked to each other, wall (14) of shaft at second part is expanded radially at spreader drilling.
