The system has at least one main line (5,9) passing through the building for input or outlet air, feed and outlet lines (7,11) in the floors (1-4) and connecting lines (6,10) between the main line and the other lines. The main line is operated at significantly above atmospheric pressure and combined via its input and output with compression or expansion equipment (12,19,23) for producing the high pressure or converting it into a lower pressure.
