PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust-proof device and a dust-proof method for a camera lens capable of improving the inspecting accuracy of a package outside appearance inspecting device by preventing dust or the like from adhering to a camera lens and always making the camera lens in a clean state. SOLUTION: As for this dust-proof device for a camera lens and this dust- proof method therefor; a casing 7 is arranged on the front side of the camera lens 4 so that a photographed object may be image-picked up through an aperture window 9 and is equipped with a fan blower 14 sending air to the front of the lens 4 in the casing 7, and reflux paths 11 and 11 for introducing the air passing through the front of the lens 4 to the back of the blower 14 by branching it right and left are formed, so that the air passing through the paths 11 and 11 is filtered by a filter 15 and sent to the front of the lens 4 as the clean air from the blower 14 again.
