The cable drum can be changed into a reel by the simple alteration of the holding system. This involves turning the entire system from the vertical position into the horizontal position. The holding system consists of a handle tube (3) and legs (10) and is that part of the cable drum that is connected to the drum itself via a rotatable system, e.g. bolt (4) and bearing, and holds the drum. An Independent claim is also included for an adapter.
