The measuring method has the shaft (10) supported for rotation between a pair of spaced centering pins (6,8), with calculation of the amplitude and direction of the shaft curvature and eccentricity, by detection of the curvature in the vicinity of each centering pin during the shaft rotation. An Independent claim for a machine for measuring the curvature and/or eccentricity of a shaft is also included.
