The invention concerns a hood having a face opening (3) partially closed by a permeable cloth mask forming a filter (5). Said cloth mask is stitched at the hem (4) bordering said opening (3) and designed to cover a user's mouth and the nose. The invention is characterised in that the mask (5) is provided with a flexible rigidifying element (18) arranged crosswise relative to said facial opening (3) and having, when loose, a curved shape whereof the concave part is oriented inwards of the hood.
