A packet transmission device comprises a buffer for temporarily storing input packets and sending them during time slots, detector means for detecting the number of packets stored in the buffer, control means responsive to the results of detection for controlling the number of packets to be sent from the buffer during each time slot, and transmission means for transmitting the packets from the buffer as code division multiplex packets. According to the packet transmission device, interference is alleviated, the capacity of the communication system is increased, and the efficient use of frequency bands is achieved.
