The invention relates to an electric motor, especially an electric geared motor for driving vehicle aggregates, such as windshield wipers, window lifters and the like. The inventive electric motor comprises a housing, especially a gear housing (10), which can be closed by a housing cover (12), and comprises a plug connector which can be contacted by a connection plug and which is provided for connecting the electric motor to the vehicle electronics. In order to provide a uniform and unique design of the plug connector for use with connection plugs having constructively different concepts, the plug connector is equipped with an changeable adapter (15') which comprises a first group (16) of electrical contacts that is adapted to the plug connector and which comprises a second group (17) of electrical contacts that is adapted to the connection plug. The contacts of the contact groups (16, 17), said contacts consisting of plug tabs (18, 19), are connected to one another inside the adapter (15') in an electrically conductive manner.
